Revenge of the Creature

Revenge of the Creature (1955) is a classic sci-fi horror you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Jack Arnold, it's the direct sequel to Creature from the Black Lagoon — a second round with the amphibious Gill-man pulled from the Amazon.

This time the creature is hauled to Florida and dumped into a marine-park tank, put on show for crowds and studied by scientists. Biologists Clete and Helen try to learn from their captive, but the thing wakes to a hunger for freedom — and for the woman who keeps turning up near its tank. Chains and glass won't hold it for long.

Shot originally in 3D, the film leaned hard on the gimmick, with the monster seeming to reach straight out of the screen. The suit work and underwater sequences were a point of pride for Universal in those years. And in a tiny bit part as a lab assistant, a complete unknown named Clint Eastwood made his screen debut here. Cozy retro fright for fans of golden-age Hollywood monsters.
