Synopsis
The Kovak Box (2006) is a Spanish-British sci-fi thriller from Daniel Monzón you can watch online on iFILM. A novelist flies to Mallorca for a conference, and reality starts copying the plot of his own book.
David Norton (Timothy Hutton) is a bestselling author used to deciding who lives and dies — on the page. Then, mid-trip, his girlfriend silently walks out a window to her death, and the bodies keep coming, each one eerily lifted from his fiction. For the first time he isn't the writer; he's a character trapped inside someone else's design.
Monzón, who would later make the prison drama Cell 211, hangs the suspense on one unsettling premise about controlling a person from the outside, and the answer lands far closer to cold reality than the supernatural. A tight watch for anyone who likes paranoia that builds slowly and plays fair. Stream The Kovak Box online on iFILM.
