Synopsis
Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings (2018) is a Chinese fantasy action film you can watch online on iFILM. She dispatches imperial combat sorcerers to retrieve it. At the same time, the city of Luoyang is sliding into something stranger: warriors in Chiyou ghost masks prowl the streets, foxes speak in human voices, and the stone sculptures inside the palace have begun to move. Dee has to unravel what force is behind it all while managing the political threat aimed directly at him by the court.
Tsui Hark piles it on — elaborate wire choreography, sweeping digital sets, a plot that sprints through twists. That maximalism is exactly the point.
