Synopsis
The Comedy of Terrors (1964) is a horror-tinged black comedy worth watching online for its cast alone. Vincent Price plays a drunken undertaker whose funeral parlor has run dry of corpses, while the landlord demands a year's back-rent or the keys.
His fix is grim and simple: if nobody dies on schedule, give them a push. He drags his timid assistant — Peter Lorre — along for the killings, dodging a shrill wife and a deaf, doddering father-in-law played by Boris Karloff. One marked victim, landlord Basil Rathbone, simply refuses to stay dead and recites Shakespeare from the coffin.
Director Jacques Tourneur put four horror legends in one room and let them clown, working from a script by Richard Matheson. Don't come for scares — it runs on graveyard humor and Price's gleeful ham. Stream The Comedy of Terrors (1964) online on iFILM.
