Synopsis
Andre the Giant (2018) is an HBO documentary you can watch online, directed by Jason Hehir. It traces André Roussimoff — the seven-foot-four Frenchman who became wrestling's biggest draw, in every sense of the word.
The film follows him from a farm near Grenoble to sold-out WWE arenas and a cult turn in The Princess Bride. Acromegaly built that frame and was quietly killing him; he knew, and wrestled almost nightly anyway. Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon and Arnold Schwarzenegger talk on camera, while Robin Wright and Rob Reiner remember the man on set. Hehir, who later made The Last Dance, cuts archive and interviews without polishing the sad parts. Behind the spectacle sits someone whose own body never let him have an ordinary day.
