Synopsis

Yann (Guillaume Canet) and Nadia (Leïla Bekhti) are in love and full of plans when they buy a run-down building by the water. They have talent and nerve but no money, so the loans pile up faster than the income. Nadia leaves for a job in Canada, trusting Yann with her nine-year-old son — and then the calls stop coming. Yann and the boy are left alone against creditors, banks and a system that couldn't care less.
Kahn films not a disaster but the slow suffocation of an ordinary family by debt, shot almost like a documentary, with no melodrama.
