Synopsis
The Scapegoat (Au bonheur des ogres, 2013) is a French tragicomedy you can watch online on iFILM. Benjamin Malaussène holds an odd job: at a sprawling Paris department store he is paid to be the official scapegoat, soaking up the fury of unhappy customers.
His home life is already pure chaos — a heap of younger siblings to raise and a mother forever off on her next romance. Then bombs start going off in the store, and every finger swings toward Benjamin. A sharp-tongued journalist named Julie helps him work out who wants his life in ruins. Nicolas Bary directs from Daniel Pennac's much-loved novel, with Raphaël Personnaz in the lead and Emir Kusturica turning up along the way. A warm, faintly deranged mix of comedy and whodunit.
