Going Away

Going Away (Un beau dimanche, 2013) is a quiet French drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Nicole Garcia. Pierre Rochefort plays Baptiste, a supply teacher at a rural school in southern France.

On a Friday afternoon, one of his pupils is left uncollected. Baptiste drives the boy, Matias, to his mother Sandra — Louise Bourgoin — who waitresses at a beach resort in a nearby town. The ride should have ended there. Instead, he comes back. Baptiste wants to help Sandra out of a financial bind, but doing that means reopening a chapter of his own past he'd rather leave shut. Dominique Sanda and Déborah François also appear.
