Dead Awake

Dead Awake (2016) is a supernatural horror thriller from director Phillip Guzman that you can watch online on iFILM. Social worker Kate Bowman loses her twin sister in her sleep, then starts digging into a string of similar deaths — each victim haunted by sleep paralysis and a dark shape at the foot of the bed before they died.

The further Kate pushes, the closer she draws an ancient evil that preys on people stuck between sleep and waking. The script comes from Jeffrey Reddick, creator of Final Destination, and it runs on the same idea: death works down a list and won't be outrun. Jocelin Donahue (The House of the Devil) leads, with Lori Petty and Jesse Bradford alongside. A solid pick for anyone who knows that specific dread of waking up unable to move.
