Synopsis

Blanche falls for Grégoire fast. He's attentive and magnetic, and the love feels real. They marry, move away together — away from Blanche's family, away from her twin sister Rose. Then, piece by piece, what looked like devotion reveals itself to be something controlling and suffocating. The charm is still there. That's part of what makes it frightening.
Efira carries the film almost entirely on her own, and she makes Blanche's gradual erosion feel achingly credible. Donzelli is less interested in thriller mechanics than in the texture of coercive control — the small concessions, the quiet humiliations that are impossible to explain to anyone outside.
