Some Like It Veiled (Cherchez la femme, 2017) is a French romantic comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Sou Abadi built it around a cross-dressing premise that could easily go wrong — but she steers it into something genuinely warm rather than cheap.

Armand and Leila are Sciences Po students with a shared plan: an internship at the United Nations in New York. Then Leila's older brother Mahmoud comes back from a long stay in Yemen transformed by religion, and he immediately cuts Armand out of the picture. With no other way in, Armand shows up at the family apartment dressed head to toe in a niqab, calling himself Scheherazade. The problem arrives fast: Mahmoud falls for the mysterious visitor.

Félix Moati keeps a perfectly straight face as the situation spirals, and Camélia Jordana gives Leila enough agency that she never becomes just a prize to be won.
