Synopsis
Set against the Gulf War, K (1997) is a French crime thriller from director Alexandre Arcady, ready to watch online on iFILM. An elderly German tourist is murdered in Paris, and the only witness is local detective Sam Bellamy.
The killer is junk dealer Joseph Katz — an old friend of Bellamy's. The detective is tangled up twice over: he's seeing the dead man's daughter, Emma, so he buries what he saw. Then Katz simply vanishes. The trail pulls Bellamy to Berlin, to an auction of the victim's belongings, where he uncovers a hidden trade in art the Nazis looted from French Jews — and a war criminal blackmailing his old associates. Patrick Bruel and Isabella Ferrari anchor the murk.
The script adapts Guy Konopnicki's novel No Kaddish for Sylberstein and draws on journalist Hector Feliciano's research into the stolen collections of The Lost Museum. The result reaches past the whodunit into history's unpaid debts and the long blackmail of the past. One for fans of European noir with a real story underneath.
