Enea

Enea (2024) is an Italian drama written and directed by Pietro Castellitto, available to watch online on iFILM. A young Roman named after the ancient hero chases that myth headlong, trying to feel alive in a comfortable, hollow age.

At his side is Valentino, a freshly licensed pilot; together they deal, party and burn through their youth at full throttle. Friends since childhood, they're both victims and agents of a rotten world, kept upright by a stubborn vitality. Underneath the partying runs another story entirely — a melancholy father, a brother at war with his school, a mother undone by love, and a beautiful girl somewhere on the edge of it all.

Castellitto, barely into his thirties, wrote, directed and stars, while his own father, Sergio Castellitto, plays his father on screen. It's brash auteur cinema about Rome's gilded youth, where glamour and self-destruction walk arm in arm; the film played in competition at Venice.
