Synopsis
The Prince of the Pacific (Le Prince du Pacifique, 2000) is a French adventure comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Alain Corneau sends Captain de Morsac to a Polynesian island in 1918 on a mission to bring civilization to the Hiva people.
It turns out the island already has its own power structure: a disgraced French major named Lefèvre has made himself the effective ruler, and the Hiva have their own ideas about what the captain is. Prince Reia, the island boy, is certain that Morsac is Tefa'aora — the divine messenger prophesied to ride a dolphin out of the sea and free his people.
