Synopsis
"Adieu Philippine" (1962) is available to watch online on iFILM — Jacques Rozier's debut feature, a French-Italian co-production shot with the loose energy of a home movie and the attention of someone paying very close notice. Michel is a young technician at a fledgling Paris TV studio, with two months left before his Algerian War draft papers arrive.
He fills those weeks flirting with Juliette and Liliane — two inseparable aspiring actresses who haunt the edges of the studio, equally amused by him and by each other. When Michel heads to Corsica for a long weekend just before induction, the girls follow. Rozier worked with non-professional actors and almost no script; what came out feels like a summer you actually remember rather than one someone assembled.
