Mammoths (Season 1)

Mammoths (2024) is a Russian comedy worth watching online on iFILM for Yuri Stoyanov's lead turn alone. Retired Nikolai Nikolaevich sells his flat and moves in with his daughter in New Moscow — just for a while, naturally. Then a phone scammer drains his card of every ruble the sale brought in.

The police are blunt: getting that money back is next to hopeless. So the old man decides to hunt the fraudsters himself, recruiting his 15-year-old granddaughter — who, frankly, has been praying for grandpa to move out for ages. The two form an absurd but stubborn team. Stoyanov is joined by Elizaveta Ishchenko, Maryana Spivak and Lev Malishava, under director Mikhail Chistov.

The subtitle "Open Season on Scammers" delivers exactly what it promises: phone fraud met not with helpless complaints but with a counterattack from the older generation.
