Synopsis
Povyshaya Gradus (2024) is a Russian comedy you can watch online on iFILM. A provincial distillery changes hands to new owners from Moscow. The old plant director is placed under house arrest, and his chair goes to Vladimir — young, ambitious, fresh off a foreign university diploma — who spends day one tearing out everything the old guard built.
Among those shown the door are three women who gave the factory half their lives. They turn the insult into a brazen plan: launch a distillery of their own. The know-how is there, the hands are willing; all that's left is finding premises, getting production running, making the bottles look the part, building distribution, and somehow squaring things with the local crooks and the police. Every new hurdle raises the proof on the adventure. Olga Tumaykina, Anna Ukolova and Katerina Kovalchuk lead the cast.
Directors Georgy Malkov and Maksim Maksimov shoot it almost as a workplace comedy with a stubborn principle at its core: the heroines refuse to churn out cheap rotgut and want to wean their townsfolk off bootleg vodka with an honest product.
