Synopsis
Sukhar (2018) is a Russian drama series you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Valentin Donskoy. Nadezhda (Anna Nevskaya) is a trained architect who spent years at home keeping the family together while her husband Oleg climbed his career ladder.
Oleg's affair with his boss's wife gets exposed, and he is fired the same afternoon. Facing debts and the risk of losing their apartment, Nadya pulls out her diploma and lands a foreman's role on a construction site. The crew names her Sukhar — Russian slang for someone stiff, impossible to soften — and she earns it by micromanaging every pour and refusing every shortcut. What she doesn't see coming: the wealthy client who commissioned the build came for one of her workers, not the architecture.
