TV-14Synopsis
War and Remembrance (1988) is an American historical miniseries you can watch online on iFILM. Director Dan Curtis adapted the second of Herman Wouk's Henry family novels, picking up where The Winds of War left off — December 1941, with America entering the fight.
Robert Mitchum returns as Admiral Victor Henry, now with a cruiser command and a marriage fraying under the weight of the war. His daughter-in-law Natalie (Jane Seymour) is trapped in occupied Europe with her infant son, navigating the Nazi bureaucracy as Jewish American citizens. Her husband Byron (Hart Bochner) runs submarine patrols in the Pacific and can only wait. The eighteen episodes span the Atlantic theatre, North Africa, the Pacific, and the Nazi death camps — the Holocaust sequences were filmed without softening.
Shot across three continents with a cast that included Hart Bochner, Polly Bergen, and John Gielgud, it remains one of the most ambitious TV productions of the 1980s. Stream War and Remembrance (1988) online on iFILM.
