Civil Marriage (Season 1)

"Civil Marriage" (2017) is a Russian comedy series you can stream online on iFILM, directed by Dina Shturmanova. Tyoma and Nika (Denis Kukoyaka and Agata Mutsenietse) have been together for over a year and decide to move in together — into her grandmother's vacant flat — to demonstrate to their parents and themselves that they are capable of managing on their own.

One problem: the flat sits a few floors directly below Nika's parents' apartment. Her father can't stand Tyoma but lets them stay. What follows is the full beginner's curriculum in adult life — hunting for work and groceries, arguing over nonsense, figuring out how two people actually share a space — with a pair of well-meaning parents one elevator ride away at all times.
