Arina Prozorovsky comes from a cultured Moscow family — a committed Komsomol member with a clear picture of what the Soviet future should look like. Zoya Velichko is a village girl, daughter of a collectivized farmer, who survived a stint in criminal company and has no illusions left about anything. Thrown into the same mission, they have to build something resembling trust out of mutual suspicion, under conditions that leave no room for hesitation. Svetlana Ivanova, Svetlana Ustinova, and Vladimir Vdovichenkov lead the cast.
