Synopsis

A young French schoolteacher stops for the night at the estate of an aging baroness, who keeps her own son locked in chains. The teacher, moved by misplaced sympathy, sets him free. Baron Meinster is charming, aristocratic — and a vampire. He wastes no time: by morning, the local countryside has a problem, and the girls' school where the teacher is headed has become his preferred hunting ground.
Uniquely in the Hammer Dracula cycle, the Count himself never appears — the studio replaced him with a new villain to expand the mythology, and the gamble paid off.
