12+Season 8
Synopsis
Agatha Christie's Poirot (1989), Season 8 — the British detective series with David Suchet you can watch online on iFILM. Just two episodes here, but each is a feature-length take on a Christie novel.
The 2001 run rests on two cases that pull the detective far from his London flat. In "Evil Under the Sun," a heart scare sends Poirot to a seaside health farm on Burgh Island, where a flirtatious heiress turns up strangled on a quiet beach. Then "Murder in Mesopotamia": he tags along with Hastings to an archaeological dig in Iraq, only to land in the killing of the lead archaeologist's wife. Two enclosed circles of suspects. Two trips away from home, and the same little grey cells sorting out everyone's lies.
Both films lean hard on setting — art-deco glamour, hot southern light, the dust of a working dig. Suchet is as fastidious as ever in a role he had already owned for over a decade. If you like a classic whodunit you can solve alongside the sleuth, season 8 gives you plenty to weigh. Stream Agatha Christie's Poirot Season 8 online on iFILM.
