Synopsis
The Bang Bang Club (2011) is a biographical drama directed by Steven Silver, available to watch online on iFILM. The script draws on the memoir by Greg Marinovich and João Silva — the story of four photographers who put themselves inside the township violence of South Africa's final apartheid years, shooting clashes between ANC and Inkatha forces in the months before Nelson Mandela's 1994 election.
Ryan Phillippe plays Marinovich; Taylor Kitsch is Kevin Carter. Their cameras take them into Tokoza and Katlehong — places where journalists got killed not by accident. Malin Akerman plays their photo editor, the woman deciding which images the world needed to see and which were simply too much.
