This three-part special finally points the older, no-wiser crew toward their home planet: Earth in 2009. It kicks off on an ordinary day of Lister winding Rimmer up, until a dimension-hopping leviathan turns up in the ship's mile-deep water tank. A new hologram, Katerina, is set on steering Lister home, Rimmer has no intention of being replaced, and the Earth they reach isn't the one any of them pictured.
