Meet Bill

Meet Bill (2007) is an American comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, starring Aaron Eckhart as a soft-spoken bank manager who has let everyone around him — his wife's family in particular — make every decision in his life. He runs a donut franchise nobody asked for. He smiles when he should argue.

Then a video camera catches his wife in bed with a smug local news anchor. Bill's on-air meltdown turns him into an accidental celebrity overnight. Around the same time, he gets saddled with mentoring a sharp-mouthed teenage schemer who has no interest in being mentored — yet somehow the kid becomes the mirror Bill needed. Elisabeth Banks plays the cheating wife, Jessica Alba the neighbor who notices Bill is more interesting than he looks, and an early Kristen Wiig rounds out the cast.

Co-directors Melisa Wallack and Bernie Goldmann keep the tone easy on the cynicism. The film is less about revenge than about a forty-something man figuring out what he actually wants — which turns out to be a surprisingly honest question for a romantic comedy to ask.
