Synopsis
The Field (1990) is Jim Sheridan's brooding Irish drama, available to watch online on iFILM. For decades old farmer Bull McCabe has poured his life into a rented patch of grass, and he counts it as his own.
When the widow who owns it puts the field up for auction, no local dares outbid Bull. Then a wealthy American (Tom Berenger) arrives, wanting the land for a road. Richard Harris plays McCabe as an Old Testament patriarch consumed by the soil, with a young Sean Bean as his son and John Hurt circling the edges. A simple bidding war curdles into tragedy.
