Synopsis
My Awkward Sexual Adventure (2012) is a Canadian romantic comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Jordan Abrams (Jonas Chernick) is an accountant — dependable, tidy, and catastrophically boring in bed. His girlfriend is gone and he wants her back. His plan: become a completely different person, fast.
At a strip club he meets Julia (Emily Hampshire), who is spontaneous, worldly, and drowning in debt. They strike a deal: Jordan fixes her finances, Julia expands his education. The curriculum covers considerably more ground than Jordan bargained for — drag nights, sensual massage, and situations that a man who color-codes his spreadsheets has no framework for.
Director Sean Garrity keeps the tone light without letting the characters turn into cartoons. Hampshire is the reason to watch — Julia is sharper and funnier than the genre usually bothers to write. The film doesn't reinvent the romantic comedy, but it earns its laughs honestly and ends up somewhere warmer than you'd expect from the premise.
