Synopsis

Dr. Dolittle is an eccentric country vet who speaks the languages of animals — all five hundred of them, learned from his parrot Polynesia. His neighbors think he has lost his mind; the local wildlife thinks otherwise. When village life grows too cramped, Dolittle sets off across the sea to find the mythical Giant Pink Sea Snail, with a small crew of humans and a large number of creatures in tow.
Adapted from Hugh Lofting's beloved books, the film runs two and a half hours and was shot with live animals on location across several countries. It took home two Oscars — for visual effects and best original song — and Harrison picked up a Golden Globe for the role.
