Synopsis
The Velvet Queen (La Panthère des neiges, 2021) is a French nature documentary you can watch online on iFILM, set high on the Tibetan plateau where some of the world's last untouched valleys still hide creatures few people ever see. Wildlife photographer Vincent Munier brings adventurer and novelist Sylvain Tesson along on his latest expedition.
For weeks the two men crouch in cold, remote hideouts and simply wait. Their real target is the snow leopard — one of the rarest big cats on Earth and almost impossible to approach. Along the way the camera catches antelope, bears and wild yaks, while director Marie Amiguet shapes it all into a meditation on patience and learning how to look.
