Synopsis
Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (1972) is a low-budget horror comedy you can watch online on iFILM, long cherished by cult-horror collectors. It's an early effort from Bob Clark, who later made Black Christmas and A Christmas Story, co-written with Alan Ormsby, who also takes the lead.
A scruffy theater troupe led by their vain director Orville sails out to a deserted island with an old graveyard. The plan: stage a necromantic ritual and spook the cast. Nothing happens at first, so a bored Orville starts mocking the corpse they've dug up, hurling insults at the dead. Bad idea. The ground answers — the buried rise and set about proving, hands-on, just how wrong the jokers were.
Cheap, goofy and oddly charming, it's pure '70s drive-in fare, prized for its basement-made mood rather than any effects. A neat find for fans of retro zombies and early Bob Clark. Stream Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (1972) online on iFILM.
