Dead of Night

Dead of Night (1974), also released as Deathdream, is Bob Clark's chilling horror film you can watch online on iFILM. The Brooks family prays for their son Andy, off fighting in Vietnam. The prayers fail — word arrives that he's been killed in action.

His mother refuses to accept it. And late one night, Andy walks back through the front door, somehow alive. His family is overjoyed, yet he asks them to keep his return a secret. He grows colder and stranger by the hour: silent, shunning the light, staring through the people who love him. Whatever came home from the war only looks like their boy.

Shot on a shoestring by Clark, who would go on to make Black Christmas and A Christmas Story, the film turns the open wound of Vietnam into a quiet zombie parable.
