Synopsis
Niagara (1953) is Henry Hathaway's crime thriller, available to watch online on iFILM. Newlyweds Polly and Ray Cutler arrive at the falls for their honeymoon and take a cabin next to another couple — the brooding George Loomis and his much younger, striking wife Rose.
Rose is bored beside a jittery husband fresh out of a mental hospital, and she barely hides it. Polly (Jean Peters) is the first to sense trouble: a strange man, a hurried embrace near the water, words that don't add up. Her suspicion keeps growing until the resort calm curdles into a cold, calculated plot to kill. The roar of the falls becomes a character of its own, drowning out screams and fraying everyone's nerves.
This was the role that turned Marilyn Monroe into a star, the camera framing her against vivid Technicolor scenery until the noir suddenly goes color. Joseph Cotten plays jealousy on the verge of breaking. A tight, short thriller for fans of classic Hollywood. Stream Niagara (1953) online on iFILM.
