What Time Is It?

What Time Is It? (Che ora è, 1989) is an Italian tragicomedy from Ettore Scola, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Marcello, a successful Rome lawyer, travels to the port town of Civitavecchia to see his son, who is finishing his military service there.

The father built everything from nothing and longs to hand it all down; the son, Michele, simply doesn't want it — a small life by the sea and his girlfriend Loredana suit him fine. Across one long day on the coast, the two try to work out why they keep talking past each other. Marcello Mastroianni and Massimo Troisi play the conversation so finely that the Venice jury refused to choose between them and split the Volpi Cup for Best Actor.
