Synopsis
A Somewhat Gentle Man (En ganske snill mann, 2010) is a Norwegian black comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Ulrik walks out of prison after twelve years for killing his wife's lover — older, quieter, and badly out of step with the world.
On the outside, everyone wants a piece of him. An old gangster friend keeps nudging him to settle the score with the man who once tipped off the police. His grown son has a family now and little appetite for a reunion. And three women circle him at the same time — his ex-wife, his sullen landlady, and a coworker from the auto shop. Ulrik, for his part, seems to want nothing beyond being left alone.
Stellan Skarsgård plays it almost wordlessly, carrying entire scenes with a weary face, and director Hans Petter Moland shapes his trademark Nordic humor out of that stillness — dry, awkward, occasionally uncomfortable. This is no revenge thriller but a quiet tragicomedy about a man too worn down to play the villain. Stream A Somewhat Gentle Man (2010) online on iFILM.
