Synopsis
The Tin Star (1957) is Anthony Mann's classic Western, free to watch online on iFILM. A bounty hunter named Morg Hickman rides into a town whose sheriff has just been gunned down — and he once wore that same badge himself.
The temporary star goes to Ben, young, honest and badly out of his depth. He wants to keep the job but has no idea how to hold it, so he asks Hickman to teach him the trade. Henry Fonda plays the weary old hand, Anthony Perkins the jittery rookie. The lesson has little to do with shooting: a lawman survives by reading people and standing firm against a mob hungry for a lynching, not by drawing fast.
