Synopsis
Tommaso (2020) is an Abel Ferrara psychological drama you can watch online on iFILM. Willem Dafoe plays an American film director who has settled in Rome with his much younger wife and their small daughter.
On the surface his days are in order — Italian lessons, an acting class he teaches, walks with his kid, notes for his next project. Underneath, old guilt and quiet jealousy keep gnawing at him, and the line between what's real and what he imagines slowly dissolves. Ferrara shot the film inside his own Rome apartment, and Dafoe's on-screen wife is played by Ferrara's real partner Cristina Chiriac, which gives the whole thing the texture of a diary.
This is slow, confessional cinema with no plot machinery — Dafoe's intimate performance carries every frame. It's for viewers who love personal, director-driven drama and don't mind an unhurried pace. Stream Tommaso (2020) online on iFILM.
