Synopsis

Country doctor Mortimer brings Holmes a grim story: Sir Charles Baskerville is dead, found on the Devon moor with an expression of pure terror, and the old legend about a phantom hound that hunts every heir to the family name is suddenly very much alive. Holmes sends Watson to Baskerville Hall to watch over the new baronet Sir Henry while he works the case from a distance. The adaptation stays close to Arthur Conan Doyle's novel — no reinventions, no modern detours — and Brett's performance does what it always does: makes every deduction feel inevitable in hindsight.
