Synopsis
Le Grand Pardon (1982) is a French crime film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Alexandre Arcady. The Bettoun family — pied-noir Jews who carried Algerian street codes into Paris — run casinos, underground boxing and back-room gambling, and have kept the law at arm's length for a decade.
Police commissioner Duché has been trying to take them down for ten years. He finally gets his opening when a man named Pascal Villars starts playing the Bettoun against a rival Arab clan, engineering a war that benefits both sides at Bettoun expense. Jean-Louis Trintignant leads the cast alongside Bernard Giraudeau, Richard Berry, Gérard Darmon and Jean-Pierre Bacri — effectively the French crime cinema A-list of the early eighties.
