Synopsis
Locked Out (Enfermés dehors, 2006) is a French slapstick comedy from Albert Dupontel, available to watch online on iFILM. A homeless man named Roland happens to witness a policeman take his own life, and decides to do the decent thing — hand the dead man's belongings in at the station.
The guard laughs him off. So Roland just puts on the uniform himself, first to score free meals at the canteen, then sinking fully into the part. Inside the precinct he meets Marie, whose in-laws have taken her young daughter away. The fake cop vows to get the girl back and ropes in a ragtag band of fellow vagrants. What follows tips into pure absurdity, with law and logic left far behind.
Dupontel directs and stars, building a coarse, almost clownish farce in the spirit of early Monty Python — fittingly, Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones both pop up in small roles. It's one for viewers who enjoy ragged French humor and don't mind their comedy loud and broad. Stream Locked Out (2006) online on iFILM.
