Synopsis
A War (Krigen, 2015) is a Danish war drama directed by Tobias Lindholm that you can watch online on iFILM, with Pilou Asbæk as company commander Claus Pedersen. His unit is dug into Helmand Province, Afghanistan. At home in Denmark, his wife Maria — played by Tuva Novotny — holds the household together across three kids and an indefinite absence.
During a Taliban ambush, Claus calls in an airstrike to save his men. The decision takes seconds. The consequences take much longer: back in Denmark, he faces a military court on charges of a war crime. Lindholm cuts between two completely different worlds — the dust and noise of a firefight and the polished silence of a Copenhagen courtroom — and lets the same event look utterly different from each side.
