Synopsis
The Corsican File (L'Enquête corse, 2004) is a French comedy directed by Alain Berbérian — watch online on iFILM. Christian Clavier and Jean Reno play off each other across 92 minutes of sun-drenched island absurdity.
Paris detective Jack Palmer takes what looks like an easy job: find a missing man on Corsica for a minor attorney. Palmer is a loud, self-satisfied Parisian who has no idea how things work outside the périphérique. Corsica has its own rules — every resident seems to be related to everyone else, armed, and utterly uninterested in explaining anything to an outsider. The target, Ange Leoni, has the whole island running interference for him.
The film works as a culture-clash comedy rather than a proper thriller — Clavier's clueless detective keeps walking into walls while Reno's taciturn local watches with barely concealed amusement. Good location photography of Corsica and a relaxed pace make it easy company for an evening. Stream The Corsican File online on iFILM.
