Synopsis
Zu Warriors (蜀山傳, 2001) — watch online on iFILM — is director Tsui Hark's visually extravagant wuxia fantasy, a reimagining of his 1983 Hong Kong cult film. Two centuries ago, the demonic force called Insomnia erased the sacred Kun Lun Mountain and killed the woman warrior King Sky loved.
Now King Sky crosses paths with a young woman named Enigma who carries the soul of his lost master. Sammo Hung, Zhang Ziyi and Cecilia Cheung join the fight as the Blood Clouds gather for a final assault on Zu itself.
Tsui Hark pushed his effects crew to digitally composite nearly every frame — an unprecedented scale for Asian cinema at the time.
