Synopsis
The Perfect Neighbor (2025) is an American documentary you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Geeta Gandbhir. It follows a neighborhood dispute between two women — Susan Lorincz and Ajike Owens — that lasted months before ending in a fatal shooting. Police bodycam footage forms the backbone of the film: officers responded to this address repeatedly, and the cameras kept running.
Gandbhir doesn't frame the story as a true-crime timeline. The focus is on structure — how Stand Your Ground laws shift the calculus of a confrontation, how fear and racial bias settle into a neighborhood long before any confrontation turns physical, and what gets captured on a bodycam versus what it cannot show. Pamela Dias also appears as part of the unfolding account.
The film sits with difficult questions rather than delivering verdicts. The footage is evidence, not illustration, and the distance between those two things is where the documentary lives. Stream The Perfect Neighbor (2025) online on iFILM.
