A Poet (Un poeta, 2025) is a Colombian drama-comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Simón Mesa Soto. Starring Ubeimar Rios, with Rebeca Andrade and Guillermo Cardona.

Oscar is somewhere in his middle years — unemployed, living with family, drifting through the streets of Medellín with a drink in hand and a low opinion of everyone who doesn't understand real poetry. He convinced himself long ago that he was a serious writer. The poems never quite materialized. When he gets the chance to tutor a talented young student, it's the first real purpose he's found in years. Mesa Soto handles the bittersweet tone without sentimentality: Oscar is neither saved nor destroyed by the experience, just briefly, tentatively present in his own life.
