Foxfire

What starts as petty payback against the men who wronged them grows into a rented house, a shared kitty and far riskier schemes that test how far their sisterhood can stretch.

Cantet cast mostly unknown young actresses, and that choice keeps the rebellion raw instead of polished. At 143 minutes it takes its time — angry, patient and clear-eyed about the price 1950s girls paid for any freedom they grabbed.
