Synopsis
Planet Ocean (Planète Océan, 2012) is a French documentary you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Michael Pitiot. Arthus-Bertrand built his reputation with Earth from Above — large-scale aerial photography of the planet — and here the perspective inverts: cameras go below the surface instead.
A team of international underwater cinematographers tracked deep-water ecosystems, ocean currents that regulate global climate, and regions that remain less charted than the far side of the Moon. Josh Duhamel narrates. The film runs 94 minutes and doesn't push a simple thesis — it spends its runtime showing what's actually there, and lets the scale do the persuading.
