Synopsis
At War (En guerre, 2018) is a French drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Stéphane Brizé and starring Vincent Lindon. The film competed in the main selection at Cannes 2018.
A factory with 1,100 employees was given written guarantees — the plant stays open, jobs protected. Months later, management reverses course. Laurent (Lindon) steps in front of the workers and leads the fight. Brizé shoots the whole thing like a news crew happened to be present: handheld, uncompromising, with real union members in the crowd scenes. No obvious villain, no resolution designed to provide relief.
Lindon and Brizé had made The Measure of a Man together — Lindon took Best Actor at Cannes for that one. At War is harder and more direct than its predecessor. What it captures is what people look like when something they were promised gets taken away. Stream At War (2018) online on iFILM.
