Synopsis
Bob the Butler (2005) is Gary Sinyor's family comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Bob Tree is a gentle klutz who wrecks every job he touches. Hunting for work alphabetically and flunking everything under "A," he stumbles on a Yellow Pages ad for a butler school and signs up.
Bob turns out to be the only graduate — everyone else bailed under the instructor's withering pressure. Diploma in hand, he lands in the home of businesswoman Anne Smith, played by Brooke Shields. Anne is stretched thin between her job, her boyfriend and two mischievous kids, so she effectively hires Bob as a nanny. From there the genre takes over: smashed dishes, a mansion in chaos, and a grown man who bonds with the children far better than he handles a vacuum cleaner.
Tom Green leads with his trademark physical comedy dialed way down into a soft, kid-friendly register. The movie is modest and easy to predict, but that's the point — a safe pick for a night in with younger viewers: warm message, zero crudeness, plenty of pratfalls into the cake.
