Synopsis
Dark Touch (2013) is Marina de Van's unsettling horror film, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Eleven-year-old Niamh is the only survivor of a night when the furniture and objects in her family's remote house turned violent and killed everyone inside.
The police write it off as intruders and brush aside her story. Friends of the family take Niamh in and try to love her back to normal, but the rage trails after her. Things around her seem charged with pain, and when she snaps, the killing starts over. Missy Keating carries the part almost wordlessly, on her eyes alone.
De Van isn't making a poltergeist picture; she's filming child abuse, with telekinesis as the language of trauma adults refuse to see. It's a cold, angry film, not the easy late-night fright some viewers want. For anyone ready for the subject, it sticks. Stream Dark Touch (2013) online on iFILM.
